Reflect on "Reflections"

Kirby's Reflection Art Project that won entitled "Wow...I Like Puppy Dogs!"
Medium: Oil Pastels

She walked in our house holding her TWO ribbons and said, "Mom I just feel so proud."

Kirby's Literature that won entitled, "Wow...The Two Little Kittens Got Lost."

We saw this winning literature first, and later saw that her art work had won as well!
Kirby, we are so very proud of you. You are doing great things. Keep working hard, know that Mommy and Daddy are so happy to have you in our lives! Wow...We love you! :)
Kirby entered the PTA Reflections program at school. (This year's theme: "Wow...".) I had never heard of it, so I had no idea that it was a competition. When we went to turn in her project the PTA mom said to me, "Just so you know, this is a competition, and the chances of winning are slim-to-none, as they only pick five kids from each grade level."
Well, Kirby made it look easy by winning in both of the categories that she entered!
Way to go, Kirbs!
She brought home a notice in her backpack that she was a winner. I was excited to know which category she'd won in. Turns out it was both! We saw the literature right as we walked into the display room. Jason kept walking with the little kids and hollered at me, "Jamie, her art work is over there, too." I could not believe it! It is extremely difficult to win at all much less twice in one year! Kudos to Kirbs!
Two other children from our ward won: Hannah Dobbins, and Lexi Lambert. Also, a good family friend, Kelsey Workman was an actual medal winner! Way to go, guys!

Friends

I have truly been blessed with the greatest friends in the world. It seems every where I go, the Lord has seen fit to bless me with friends I can trust, turn to in a time of need, and laugh at a great joke with. I have lived in 14 different homes. I have been in 12 different wards. I have been exposed to a lot in what I feel is a short amount of time. There is always someone there, that I feel the Lord has sent just for me. Miracles have occurred to get friends to where I am.

Brandy, Tawnya, Ali, Nelwyn, Amy, Kristin, Jen, Selena, Lizzy, Adrian, Erika, Michal, Courtney, Sara, Shelley, Alicia, Emily, Audrey, Trish, Cheri, Alacey, Sandee, Lisa, Tiffany, Tami, Kristy, Chrystal, Diana, Nikki, Vicki, Brandy, Trina, Kristy, Cameon, Amanda, Camille, Stacy, Jennie, Paige, Reagan, Christi, Rachel, Marissa, Mandy, Mandy, Alissa, Jaime, Kambree, Ashley, Adrian, and these are just a few that have truly touched my life.

Friends come and go, we change, they change, circumstances change, but the important thing is that we are always blessed with people around us that love and support us. I personally have never been more grateful for my friends than I am today. You guys know who you are. I am ever-so-thankful that I've found support in you. Thank you for making me stand tall. Thank you for reminding me on a daily basis that the Lord loves me. Thank you for allowing me to feel like a human being with a purpose here on Earth. Thank you for reassuring me as a mother. Thank you for listening. Thank you for your hugs. Thank you for making me smile. Thank you for the outings. Thank you for stretching me. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your words. Thank you for giving me your hearts and for keeping mine safe. I love you. I know our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy. You are proof of that in my life and the lives you touch.

I'd like to end with these words from Elder Henry B. Eyring:

"All of us will be tested. And all of us need true friends to love us, to listen to us, to show us the way, and to testify of truth to us."
